Financial Dashboards still evolving

Altough financial dashboards are around for quite a time now, their use is still growing: from single accounting ratio's to complicated KPI's organized in Balanced Scorecards, the finance world is still looking for the best 'cockpit view' combining strategy and operational management.


"Financial Analysis has always been an important issue. The whole concept of arithmetics may well have been developed as a direct result of trade between individuals. But at the same time it has continuously evolved as a result of the changing world. Nowadays it is answering two direct needs. The need to react quickly without knowing all the company's processes in detail has given birth to concepts as the 'Balanced Scorecards' and other types of Cockpit Views. The second one is the need for structure. Having something to rely on instead of re-inventing the wheel everytime. 'Financial Modelling' is one of the new domains answering those requirements.
